Automatix è una interfaccia grafica dedicata all'installazione delle applicazioni più popolari (free e non-free) ed utilizzate sulle distribuzioni debian based. Il suo successore AUTOMATIX 2, di cui parleremo in questo breve tutorial, è scritto in python e vanta rispetto alla versione precedente un'interfaccia ancor più user friendly ed un design grafico sicuramente migliore.

Installazione AUTOMATIX 2

Per installare Automatix 2 sulla vostra Ubuntu Gutsy, Edgy, Dapper e Feisty, come prima cosa è necessario editare il file /etc/apt/sources.list con il vostro editor preferito e inserire la repository di Automatix adatta alla vostra release.

- se utilizzate Ubuntu Gutsy inserite la seguente repository:

deb http://www.getautomatix.com/apt gutsy main

- se utilizzate ancora Ubuntu Feisty inserite la seguente repository:

deb http://www.getautomatix.com/apt feisty main

- se utilizzate ancora Ubuntu Edgy inserite la seguente repository:

deb http://www.getautomatix.com/apt edgy main

- se utilizzate ancora Ubuntu Dapper inserite la seguente repository:

deb http://www.getautomatix.com/apt dapper main

Fatto ciò salvate e chiudete il file sources.list.

Penultimo passo prima di poter installare Automatix2, da terminal importate la chiave gpg digitando in successione i seguenti comandi:

wget http://www.getautomatix.com/keys/automatix2.key

gpg --import automatix2.key

gpg --export --armor E23C5FC3 | sudo apt-key add -

A questo punto aggiornate i pacchetti della vostra Ubuntu:

sudo apt-get update

ed installate AUTOMATIX 2

sudo apt-get install automatix2

Completata l'installazione, troverete Automatix2 in Applications --> System Tools e con un semplice click potrete installare numerose applicazioni utili.

Sarà inoltre possibile rimuovere Automatix 2 in qualunque momento, digitando semplicemente:

sudo apt-get remove automatix2
